On Friday, November 4, 2016, there will be an afternoon homeroom for students to receive their last progress report before the final report card at the end of the semester. There is still some time to bring up any low averages and get yourself squared away before final exams.
French Club students need to stop by my room before Thursday, November 3, 2016 in order to cast your vote for officers for the 2016-17 school year. Our next French Club meeting will take place on jeudi le 10 novembre (Thursday, November 10th) with Spanish Club in Mrs. Edwards-Early's room (Room #414). We will be making holiday bags for a local retirement home. We are asking for a $1.00 donation to help purchase materials such as the fabric bags, ribbons, decorative fabrics, glitter glue, etc. to be used for the project. All money will go to Mrs. Edwards-Early in room #414. This is a fun way to earn some community service hours!
In class, we concluded the Museum Virtual Tour. Please make sure you turned in your document that was started last jeudi (Thursday) in class. Also, be sure that you completed your passé composé Supersite activity. If you still need to submit this activity, click here and do it now -- www.vhlcentral.com. It was due last Friday at minuit! This week, we will be working on direct objects, adverbs and hotel vocabulary. We will also take an exam in the CTLS platform that will cover grammatical points on demonstrative adjectives and the passé composé.
Le Jour de la Toussaint (All Saint's Day) is tomorrow -- le premier novembre. We will be talking about traditions in the French-speaking world that go along with this holiday. For this week's blog question, I want you to tell me the name of any famous person buried at the beautiful <<Cimetière Père Lachaise,>> one of the most famous cemeteries in Paris (pictured below). Of course, there will be cinq tickets in it for a correct response and maybe a little something extra for Halloween. Bonne chance! Ciao!
