Salut! The answer to my last blog challenge question was Sebastien Loeb. He was driving a Peugeot as a privateer and came in 3rd place in the Car Category of this year's Dakar Rally held in Peru. Check him out in the pictures above! Bravo!
French Club - We will have our next meeting this jeudi le 7 février (Thursday, February 7th) from 3:35-5:00 in my room. We are making crêpes. Try to bring your favorite stuffing or topping for dessert crêpes! Also, don't forget to bring your t-shirt money! Front design only = $13. Front with name and number on the back = $18. Hope to see you there!
Français 1 - We are signing up for D'accord! -- the online textbook this week. Please follow the handout with the instructions provided in class. After you register for the book, please complete the activity. It will open after you click on the red book and click on "Start." You can access the textbook by clicking here -- www.vhlcentral.com. We are working on weather and date expressions. This week, there will be a quiz over the date in French. This will include numbers, days and months and proper date structure. You also have a homework assignment to practice with Celsius-Fahrenheit conversion. We are also working on numbers to 60, nouns and articles. Finally, we will begin work on a Google Voice project. Be sure to bring your cell phones to class to complete the project.
For this week's challenge question, I want you to take a closer look at the textbook by trying the vText function. Access the online text using the link above, log in with your new account. Go to the tab that says "Content" and then scroll down to "vText." Go to page 11. Examine the sentences in the explanation section. For cinq tickets, tell me the English equivalent of "Il y a un ordinateur ici." You can give me the answer in class or e-mail your response. Bonne chance! Ciao!
