Salut! I hope you enjoyed your weekend with family and friends! I know I did! The answer to my last blog challenge question is "February 16, 2021 is the date for Mardi Gras next year." Great job to those who provided a correct response! Bravo!
French Club - Please remember to purchase your t-shirt! $15 for front design only, $18 for front design with back design and $20 for front design with a name and number on the back. All money needs to be turned in as soon as possible so that our order can be placed. We will have our next meeting on jeudi le 12 mars (Tuesday, March 12th)! We look forward to seeing you then!
Français 1 - We are working on subject pronouns, regular verbs, courses and classroom objects. Please make sure that you have e-mailed me your Voki avatar so that I can get your grade into Synergy. This week we will take a short quiz over regular verbs and subject pronouns. There will also be a scavenger hunt for classroom object vocabulary. Please be sure that you have completed all work in the Supersite. Go to www.vhlcentral.com. Put in your username and password. Click on the red book. Any activities that you have not completed will pop up for you. There should be a total of four at present.
Français 2 - There is a short quiz tomorrow over the vocabulary from pp. 182-183. Please consult your notes and/or the online textbook. Go to www.vhlcentral.com. Put in your username and password. Click on the red book. Type in the desired page numbers. We are also continuing to work on le passé composé with regular and irregular verbs. We will be working on clothing vocabulary this week.
For this week's blog challenge, I want to go north to Alaska! Last samedi (Saturday) kicked off the Iditarod Dog Sled Race. This is a very long and grueling race from Anchorage to Nome, Alaska that commemorates the important part that sled dogs played in the settlement of Alaska. What does this have to do with French culture, you ask? In this year's race, Nicolas Petit is a musher of French origin (il est français) who came in second place in the 2018 race. He lives in Alaska now. I will award cinq tickets if you can tell me where he grew up in France! Check out the race website by clicking here -- www.iditarod.com. Bonne chance! Ciao!
