Salut! Félicitations go out to those students who discovered that the second Monday of October is Thanksgiving Day (le jour de l'action de grâce) in Canada. In 2019, it was on October 14th! Bon travail!

Please see me if you cannot remember your username.
Français 2 - We are working on foods and the verbs vouloir and pouvoir this week. We are also working on the Top Chef! at the 'Brook project. Please bring your own device (BYOD) to research and work on the presentation. We will select presentation dates this week.
For this week, I want to pay tribute to the Chunnel! According to www.history.com, on December 1, 1990, workers drilled an opening the size of a car in a wall of rock 132 feet below the English Channel (La Manche). For the first time in 8,000 years, this hole connected the two ends of an underwater tunnel linking France on the European mainland with Great Britain. In 1986, a treaty was signed between Britain and France authorizing the construction of a tunnel running between Folkestone, England and Calais, France. After four years, 13,000 workers dug 95 miles of tunnels at the cost of $15 billion. The Chunnel was not a new idea. It was suggested as early as 1802 by a famous French person. I will award you with dix tickets if you can name that famous person! Bonne chance! Ciao!
