Salut, mes amis! Comment allez-vous? Comment va ta famille? Moi, je vais bien. Merci beaucoup pour le travail! Only a few weeks to go! I would like to encourage you to keep up the great work with the online textbook activities as we move forward into Week 6.
To access the online textbook, don't forget to use Google Chrome and then type in www.vhlcentral.com. From here, you must enter your username and your password (your initials and lunch number). Click on the RED book to open the activities. Don't forget to click on the blue "Submit" when you are done with each activity.
French 1 - This week, you will be working with possessive adjectives to be able to talk about your family, pets and stuff in general -- ma cousine, mon chien, mon crayon. You will also take a look at the Roman-Photo for this part of the chapter. It will pull together the vocabulary and structures for you. Remember that you can watch the video as many times as you need! One time is usually not enough! Don't forget about Languages Online (type this name into Google Chrome and look for the site with "au" for Australia in the name). Also, use www.duolingo.com to learn vocabulary and French basics at your own pace. Also, keep playing the song "Ma famille" from YouTube.
French 2 - This week, you will be working with the passe compose with etre and direct object pronouns. These will be topics that you will explore more fully as you move forward to French 3. You will also look at the Roman-Photo for this part of the chapter. Remember that you can watch the video as many times as you need! One time is usually not enough! Below, I have included a couple of my favorite YouTube videos to help you understand the passe compose with etre. There is the house of etre visual and the Dr. and Mrs. P. Van Der Tramp mnemonic that will help you recall which verbs take etre as the helping verb in the passe compose instead of avoir.
Keep those emails and questions coming! Bonne chance! Ciao!
